AIRPORTS
- There are two commercial airports servicing Dallas, Texas:

DALLAS FORT WORTH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (DFW): Situated between Dallas and Fort Worth, DFW International Airport (DFW) is the world's third busiest, offering nearly 1,900 flights daily with 60 million passengers annually. DFW Airport is 20 - 25 minutes from downtown Dallas and serves 135 domestic markets and 38 international markets. For more information on the DFW International Airport, visit www.dfwairport.com

  • American Airlines is offering WINDPOWER 2010 discounts on ANY applicable airfare on www.AA.com. Discounts are available on American Airlines, American Eagle, American Connection, and all oneworld Alliance carriers as long as one segment is on American.  Reservations can be made online at www.AA.com.   Enter the promotional code, 8150BA, in the promotional code box under the “book flights” tab or “enter passenger data” tab while making your reservation.  Discount will automatically be calculated.  Discount is valid for travel 5/18-29/2010 to Dallas.  There is no fee on www.aa.com.

    Reservations may also be made by calling the American Airlines Meeting Services Desk toll free at 1-800-433-1790 from anywhere in the US or Canada, 5am to 12am CST seven days a week.  Give them your promotional discount code, 8150BA.  There is a reservation service fee, currently $20, for tickets issued through this desk.

    Reservations involving any oneworld Alliance or codeshare partner airlines, or travel into one city and out of another must be booked via phone at 1-800-433-1790.

Train: 
Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) offers rail service to Dallas via the Trinity Railway Express (TRE). Scheduled rail service is provided Monday thru Saturday.  From the airport, take a shuttle bus over to the CentrePort station which will connect to Union Station in downtown.  Fares: A single-trip ticket from the CentrePort/DFW Airport Station to all stations east is $3.75.  For more information about the Trinity Railway Express, click here or about DART click here.

Taxis:  Taxi service is available on the upper level of Terminals A, B, C and E, and on the lower level of Terminal D. An Airport Guest Assistant will be available at the taxi stands between 8:00 AM and midnight. Between midnight and 8:00 AM, dial 972 574 5878 to request a taxi.  Fare:  Approximately $50.00 one-way which includes a flat fee, surcharges, and airport gate fees to locations within the Dallas Central Business District/Dallas Convention Center.  For more information on taxi service from DFW Airport, click here.

Rental Cars:  The Rental Car Center is located at 2424 E. 38th St, DFW Airport, TX, near the south entrance of the Airport and is served by 10 companies. Arriving Passengers: After collecting your baggage, follow the Rental Car signs to the designated pick-up area on the lower level of the terminal. From there, board the Rental Car shuttle bus. Courtesy Cars: Ground Transportation information boards to Dallas-Fort Worth area hotels are located near bag claim areas inside all Airport terminals. Consult these information boards for details regarding courtesy vehicles for hotels and motels in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Using the courtesy phones, dial the two or three digit code indicated on the board to contact the hotel or motel of your choice. Passenger pick-up for courtesy vehicles is located at the lower level of each terminal. (Please note that a limited number of participating Conference hotels provide courtesy car service to DFW airport.)

 

DALLAS LOVE FIELD (DAL):  Located just 10 minutes (7 miles) from downtown, Dallas Love Field (DAL) is served by three airlines and is home to Southwest Airlines. For more information on Dallas Love, visit www.dallas-lovefield.com.

Taxis: 
Taxi Cab service is provided on the upper level across the street from the baggage claim wing of the main terminal building.  Fare:  Approximately $25.00 one-way which includes airport gate fees and surcharges to locations within the Dallas Central Business District/Dallas Convention Center plus any applicable extra fees.

PARKING AT THE DALLAS CONVENTION CENTER:

Some of the convention center parking lots will be in use during the conference including an area devoted to outdoor equipment displays.  Level P of the parking lot will be available for WINDPOWER and when full, cars will be directed to Lot E on the west side of the convention center.  All parking is $10 per entry.

DART TRAIN TO THE DALLAS CONVENTION CENTER:

The DART train stops at the Dallas Convention Center between Exhibit Hall D resting at the intersection of Lamar and Memorial; continue North on Lamar towards Ceremonial Drive. There are several conference hotels with DART stations near them including the Sheraton Dallas Downtown, Westin City Center, and the Hyatt Regency & Hotel Lawrence (via the DART stop at Union Station).  Click here for more information about DART.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO THE DALLAS CONVENTION CENTER:

On Central Expressway:
Take Central Expressway (U.S. 75) southbound. Take exit to I-35/U.S. 77 to Field Street. Turn left under the freeway and veer to the right onto Griffin Street. The Convention Center is straight ahead.

On the Tollway:
Go South on the Dallas North Tollway. Take the Harry Hines/Downtown exit to Field Street to Griffin Street. The Convention Center is straight ahead.

On Highway 183:
Take Carpenter Freeway (I-183) east to Stemmons Freeway (I-35E) southbound. Take the I-45/U.S. 75 exit to the Griffin Street exit. The Convention Center is straight ahead.

On I-45:
Take Julius Schepps (I-45) northbound. Take I-30 west to Downtown/Ervay Street exit to Griffin Street. The Convention Center is straight ahead.

On I-30:
Take R.L. Thornton Freeway (I-30) northbound. Take I-30 East (Texarkana): Exit Lamar/Griffin Street and take the Griffin Street exit. The Convention Center is straight ahead.
